Christians celebrate Easter across conflict-torn Mideast

Posted April 20, 2017

To many Americans, Easter is a holiday centered on obligatory church visits, the Easter bunny, Easter egg hunts and other rituals used to celebrate "He is risen".

I believe that as we remember with great thanks Christ's resurrection from the dead, this is something that we can be thankful for every day as we see a new day dawn and give witness to the wonder of God's creation in our lives.

Mysuru - Christian brethren across the city celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday today.

I really love Easter because of its significance - the victory of life over death, the hope the cross gives us as it reminds us of the dark days of Good Friday and of Saturday when Christ was in the tomb.

Rev Canon Erisa Grace Sentongo who led the intercession and Rev. Canon Geoffrey Byarugaba who led the service thanked God for the lives of the Christians and prayed for their security. "It's about God and family", Rodriquez said. Political leaders including Chief Minister Pinaray Vijayan and Religious leaders greeted the people on the occasion of Easter. 9 Just then Jesus met them and said, "Good morning!" Jack Hogle said he comes to services on Easter because he is a Christian.

She said the Sunday service had also been particularly busy.

USA - -( Easter is the most important day of the year for Christians.

She urged Nigerians particularly her constituents to strive to be more like Jesus at this time.

May the joy and peace of Easter be with you!

"We're trying to plant hope in people's hearts and minds, no matter what they're facing, because Christ got up, you too can get up", he said. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. The time when we focus on the greatest event or the greatest delusion in history: the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. "All our beliefs are based on the resurrection, that Christ died and was risen".

Chad: What is your favorite part of this time of year? These people are missing out because Easter is so much more than a tradition; it is the power of God unto salvation and could be the beginning of that something new that so many are longing for.
