"Bill Foley is a West Point guy, sort of using those colors", Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee said.

The Vegas Golden Knights are in a much better position to succeed right away than their predecessors, thanks to a combination of things that weren't factors when the Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets made their National Hockey League debuts during the 2000-01 campaign.

Thanks to Dion Phaneuf, Marc Methot is available for the Golden Knights. "And I think that's pretty accurate".

However, a few teams got major changes, including the Edmonton Oilers (new orange jersey), the Minnesota Wild (new stripe across the chest), and the Colorado Avalanche (a return to a uniform similar to their original design).

The precise topic of those conversations wasn't disclosed but it's worth noting that the Leafs aren't one of the teams in danger of losing an impact player in the expansion draft.

As the NHL's leading scorer with 100 points, McDavid will accept the Art Ross Trophy at tomorrow's ceremony in Las Vegas. We should have good speed. They would have to incentivize the Golden Knights to do that, by throwing in high-end prospects or draft picks. McPhee described Neuvirth as "almost technically flawless".

"It's really hard to believe we're here now and submitting this list", said McPhee. Turns out they value him more than we thought nad protected him instead of 32 goal scorer Patrick Eaves. Arizona and Philadelphia are in need of starters. There are other regulations, but Vegas will have much more to choose from.

The Senators were painted into a corner when alternate captain Dion Phaneuf refused to waive his "no move" clause to make himself available to the Knights. Want some more size and physicality?

Then comes the start of free agency, which opens on July 1.

"It's a very interesting situation", Shattenkirk said. "You know his history at West Point".

DON'T SLEEP ON: The Golden Knights will be young, but San Jose's David Schlemko (30) and Paul Martin (36) and New Jersey's Ben Lovejoy (33) are veteran options. "Is the player under contract?"

The Vegas Golden Knights team jersey became official to the public and thousands of fans around southern Nevada Tuesday night.

In addition to the aforementioned reasons that the Golden Knights may not necessarily take Colin from the Bruins, the 24-year-old is also not alone as far as young, skilled defensemen with offensive upside.

All trade roads run through Vegas.
