Taylor Swift proclaims reinvention on new single

Posted August 25, 2017

She even dropped some cryptic lines, such as, "I don't like your kingdom keys / They once belonged to me / You asked me for a place to sleep / Locked me out and threw a feast" and "I don't trust me / And nobody trusts me / I'll be the actress / Starring in your bad dreams". Fans can buy t-shirts with the album cover ($45), a ball cap ($40) with the letters R-E-P and more clothing that reads "Look What You Made Me Do". Swift's Instagram account was bombarded with snake emojis, and she has since retreated into a self-imposed social media and public hiatus.

The back and forth continued with one of Swift's representatives again denying that West had cleared the term "b***h" with her.

They had their first falling out in 2009 when Kanye West stormed the stage at the VMA Awards as Swift was accepting her award for Best Female Video.

I have to wonder: Does it matter who the song is about?

Writing on Twitter, the band expressed its delight with the final version of the song, writing: "Thank you @taylorswift13 ❤️ what a marvellous reinvention!"

I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? "I made that b - - - h famous" line in West's Life of Pablo.

"The old me is also dead!"

The rapper used this week's Throwback Thursday to share two vintage photos of herself, Beyoncé and Alicia Keys one with the trio smiling together and another featuring the divas pulling their best amusing faces. "I got a list of names, and yours is in red - underlined", she sneers.

The boots in question look to be Gianvito Rossi "Suede Cuissard Boots," and if you thought that Marc Jacobs jacket was pricey, these shoes are about to blow that out of the water, retailing for nearly double the outerwear's cost at $2,095.

It looks like Taylor isn't about to bury the hatchet just yet.

West would make sense as the song's subject, as the two got off to a rocky start in 2009 when he stole her moment at the MTV VMAs. "Oh, 'cause she's dead", Taylor says on the track. She has long, sharp talons with snake jewelry slithering up her fingers, as she embodies a film noir character ready for revenge.

From the Hollywood drama-inducing "Bad Blood" to the self-satirizing "Blank Space", Taylor Swift has always been crowned the queen of revealing, pointed lyricism that lays every feeling on the table. It's also the first track from her long-awaited forthcoming album.

Her last record, "1989", was released in 2014, and her retreat from the spotlight that followed left many wondering when the singer would deliver newmusic. The album helped her produce a star-studded world tour, featuring guest appearances from musicians such as Justin Timberlake and John Legend to A-List celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Chris Rock.

The unlikely collaboration is all down to the chorus, which sounds a little like novelty track I'm Too Sexy.
