0-4 Giants find new way to lose as season slips away

In the end though, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are at home, and that's a good reason they are the favorite. It is notable that the Bucs are 0-5 over three seasons while playing without Alexander, who was injured in the season-opening victory against the Chicago Bears.

Case in point was Sunday against the New York Giants when Winston threw for 332 yards and three touchdowns without a turnover and brought his team from behind twice in the fourth quarter to beat Eli Manning 25-23. "He did a nice job". Just when the game seemed headed for overtime, the Giants shanked a punt, and the Eagles positioned themselves for an improbable 61-yard, walk-off field goal by rookie Jake Elliott.

Play of the Game: There were a bunch of other potential candidates for this award until the game's final minutes, as the Buccaneers unlocked the big-play aspect of their offense, recording five plays of more than 30 yards. They've yet to score in the first quarter, have one first-half touchdown and have posted 13 points total in the first three quarters of games. Defensive end Olivier Vernon re-aggravated the ankle injury that made him questionable for the game.

This game felt like one where the team with the ball last would wind up winning it. Winston orchestrated a two-minute drill to set up the game-winning field goal by Folk. "I never had a doubt".

"We have to figure this out fast, because we're so far in a hole that it's hard to see", corner Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie said after a second straight loss on a last-second field goal.

The Bucs had their ups and downs on Sunday and Folk's misses loomed large as the Giants comeback took shape, but they avoided turnovers after giving the ball away three times last week and held up well defensively with three starters on the shelf with injuries. But Eli Manning caught fire in the fourth quarter, with back-to-back touchdown passes to Odell Beckham Jr. followed by a go-ahead bomb to Sterling Shepard.

"I think (we have) a strong team", Manning said. But the Giants O-line once again could not win on the ground, as defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was a force.

With a potential 0-4 start on the horizon, the New York Giants stepped into Tampa Bay with a lot to prove.

The defense shook off an ugly start to make a pair of huge stands to give the Giants a chance. So, we need it, we want it, but nothing is going to be given to us. "We can't sit here and cry about it", Beckham said. You get one win, you get rolling, and anything can happen. He tossed touchdown passes to Mike Evans, O.J. Howard and Cam Brate, was not intercepted and added several helpful scrambles to keep the chains moving. Collins was ass, throwing two picks and completing 18 of 34 for 160 yards. It was the Giants' first rushing touchdown of the season and Manning's first rushing TD since 2014.

Instead, the Giants are 0-4.

NY would love to get a win here, but Tampa Bay is surely hungry as well after losing last week. "And in this league, you've got to earn it". Nothing gets it out until you get that taste out of your mouth.
