Florida's third-down defense was a surprising struggle against LSU

The Tigers managed to be better than the opponent in an area that LSU struggled in and it gave LSU a huge victory. Also, Florida coach Jim McElwain has said leading receiver Tyrie Cleveland (right ankle sprain) will not play. But Pineiro yanked the extra point left after the second one.

"Our coaching staff did a tremendous job coming up with an outstanding game plan", LSU coach Ed Orgeron said. "That's why you practice". If you have a lack of energy out there, that starts with the players. He also made plays with his legs, often refusing to slide and fighting for more yards on scrambles. A victory there would mean the Gators could win the East by beating Missouri and SC on the road in November. "Not every play is going to be flawless, but we need to be ideal on those 'got to have it downs'".

The Gators will be in a swamp green jersey covered in a tonal gator print. Player numbers are orange trimmed in royal blue, while names appear in orange.

Florida fell to 13-2 at home under McElwain and 10-1 when rushing for more than 150 yards.

And the final chance, which began at the Gators 4-yard line after a 48-yard punt by LSU's Zach Van Rosenberg with 4:01 remaining.

Florida: The Gators don't trust quarterback Feleipe Franks. A missed point-after attempt kept UF down 17-16 into the fourth quarter. "So hopefully we can see more of that". He let me run the front.

The team was playing the LSU Tigers, and between the third and fourth quarters, the entire stadium broke into song. However, LSU's offense showed flashes of promise using the shifts and motions coordinator Matt Canada promised to bring this season, and the defense limited the Gators to just 302 total yards.

The win will make the bad news-such as the possibility that LSU isn't capable of throwing the ball against a competent defense-much easier to take. "Tie goes to the runner, I guess".

"This is SEC football, and the little things mean a whole lot, " Gators nose tackle Khari Clark said. The Tigers are on a collision course with Alabama, and they are hoping for that game with just one loss. "We just have to maintain, maintain and improve". "We had momentum. Defense was doing good". So Coach O wanted to get us back to that physicality.

The LSU Tigers took a huge loss to Troy at home, and then bounced back with a big win over Florida. And the margin, once again, was razor thin.

"We're going to need (the fans)", Orgeron said.

"Auburn is a very physical team", Orgeron said.

"Our locker room is hurting right now, " McElwain said.
